Those little spots up against the mat edge at about 5 o'clock

when I tried removing it I heard a lot of creaking in the case joints and the liner was very stiff

Tintype is a bit larger than the window. Looks like it's probably on the lap of a hidden "mother" or photographer's assistant. Condition of the tintype is perfect.
