CATALONIAN TERRACOTTA BOJITO some say aliveA 19th century terracotta bojito from the eastern Spanish region of Catalonia. These vessels made of porous clay and traditional to Spain, are containers designed to carry water, frequently used by farmers in rural fields to keep water cool under lengthened spells of sunny conditions. The botijo, acting as an evaporative cooler, more conventionally held a handle straddling over the vessels shoulders and had two spouts, one larger and the other
