205 - Steep steps leading to Devils Chimney - Bonchurch Princess Anne made the scene completeThese atmospheric steps are situated in the (1810) landslip between Bonchurch and Shanklin. The paths were created as a developed as a picturesque woodland walk in Victorian times and when I go down there I wonder about the ladies in their crinoline dresses who have undoubtedly seen it first. This is an unusual work for me but I was so inspired by the never ending steps and dangling ivy I made an exception.
